Modify Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Forms - While many people are worried about declaring bankruptcy, if you’ve decided that there’s nothing else you can do, you’ll find that there is another problem as well. Once you’ve decided that you need to declare bankruptcy, you then have to decide which type of bankruptcy to declare. The two most common types of bankruptcy are chapter 7 and chapter 13, although you generally hear more about chapter 11 in the news. A chapter 13 bankruptcy is different from chapter 7 because it requires you to make up a plan to pay off all of your debts. Since your debts are going to be paid off in the future, chapter 13 bankruptcy is only a possibility for people who have reasonably steady incomes.
If you’ve originally declared as a chapter 13 bankruptcy, however, and you find that you can no longer make your payments, you can modify chapter 13 bankruptcy forms and change your bankruptcy into a chapter 7. This is, obviously, only recommended if there is absolutely no way for you to pay off your debts under the original chapter 13 bankruptcy plan. The reason for this is that if you convert to a chapter 7 bankruptcy, you’ll have to give up your un-exempted assets that you were able to save under chapter 13.
Some people also choose to modify chapter 13 bankruptcy forms when they find that it will take several years to pay of their debts. While there are a lot of issues that come up when you declare a chapter 7 bankruptcy, there is the general ease of mind that comes when you find that you’ll be out of debt completely almost immediately, and that you’ll be able to start building up your credit rating again, right away.
If you don’t want to deal with declaring bankruptcy, and you don’t want to take the risk of needing to modify chapter 13 bankruptcy forms, then there are several other options that are available to you. For example, you can get a debt consolidation loan which will allow you to pay off your debts without harming your credit rating for the future.
