Starting A Debt Collection Business - Have you been thinking about starting a debt collection business? This can be a flat rate or a percentage of what the collection is you are attempting to obtain for the client. You may also want to consider how many contacts or letters you will send and what amount of time you plan to invest in obtaining the owed money. You will also need to decide if you are going to charge for your services regardless of whether you collect the debt or only if you collect the debt.
When starting a debt collection business you will need to decide what types of debts you will work with. Services rendered or goods sold. This may be a wide variety of debt collections. When starting a debt collection business you will need to obtain a very good filing system as you will have to go back and contact people that you have sent a collection letter to and continue with a follow up plan until the money has been paid. A computer system may be a good tracking tool as well as a filing cabinet and good filing system.
