Saving Money By Outsourcing - Many companies are increasingly considering saving money by outsourcing, a relatively common practice in the auto and consumer package goods industries, as a means to reduce logistics costs. Companies that provide logistics outsourcing are typically referred to as third-party logistics providers. Companies that provide technology-based tools and professional services for logistics and supply-chain, how ever, might be referred to as logistics services providers. Companies that are looking at outsourcing their logistics need to weigh the impact of their actions, and also look at what some other companies have done to reduce logistics costs without outsourcing.
So just remember you can be saving money by outsourcing without going for a complete outsource. So, before you begin outsourcing transportation and logistics, make sure you have fully tapped the value of your current resources. You don’t want to lose that expertise.
