Biomedical Research On Animal Future - When it comes to biomedical research on animal future, animals are used as biological models instead of humans. While many feel that this is inhumane and cruel, there are others out there that see no problem with it. No matter what side your own, you have to have an opinion when it comes to biomedical research on animal future.
Researchers of biomedical research on animal future use animal models because they help answer questions that couldn’t be answered with the technology and methods that currently exist. A lot of animals have numerous anatomical, cellular, and biochemical similarities with humans that help us to understand human diseases and how the human body works in general.
Through the use of biomedical research on animal future, scientists and researches can help to find a cure with several known diseases. They use all kinds of animals, including sheep, dogs, cats, pigs, and ducks. No matter what type of animal it may be, there are always research methods can be used to help prevent diseases as well as discover more about the way the human body actually works.
Each and every year, between 10 and 17 million dogs and cats are euthanized in pounds and shelters. Approximately 5% of dogs and cats that would otherwise be put to sleep in pounds and shelters are used with biomedical research on animal future. Surprisingly enough, rats, mice, and other rodents comprise 90% or more of all research animals.
There are no real alternatives to biomedical research on animal future although science has tried using non animal research models and other model forms. These methods however cannot mirror the complex processes that occur in the living animal, so eventually animal models must be used before the research can be attempted on humans.
As science continues to improve and technology continues to get better, biomedical research on animal future will improve as well. Throughout the course of time, you can count on this type of technology to be popular with some, and less popular with others.
