Credit Check - If you want to buy anything on credit, a loan officer will required a credit check. A credit checks let’s the companies you are working with know how you have been handling your bills. They can see what your payment history has been. And, they can see how many bills you owe on a monthly basis at the time you are applying for a loan. A credit check offers a wide range of information about the consumer. It keeps up with where you are employed, where you live and what bills you have had over the last 7 years and how you have been paying them. A credit check will let a loan officer know if you are credit worthy.

You should always keep up with your credit by getting your own credit check, at least twice a year. This will alert you to any problems in your credit, as well as any mistakes reported by credit bureaus.

A credit check offers a credit score that can determine how high of an interest rate you will be charged for the credit you have requested. If you have a good credit score you may be able to get the lowest interest rate available. If you have a poor credit score the interest could go up to the maximum amount allowed by law. It is always a good idea to keep the number of credit cards and other credit worthy accounts to a minimum so that you can pay the monthly payments with out worrying about being late. This will also save in late fees and over the limit fees.

A credit check will be done by nearly anyone that you are requesting a loan from including buying cars, buying homes and cash loans. Landlords have even begun to run a credit check on perspective renters to determine if they will be able to pay rent on a house. All a person has to do to run your credit check is get your social security number and your permission and the credit check will be completed. A person does have the right to refuse a credit check however, if a person does refuse to have it done the loan officer, landlord or retail business can refuse and usually will refuse to work with the customer as this shows up front that they have something to hide and may be a credit risk.
