Staff Reward - As a boss or business owner, you may be well aware that you need to keep your employees happy and motivated to get the very best out of them that you can get. Though some employees are grateful for just their paycheck, you may find that a staff reward program may produce even better results. This is a way to get them working harder for you, and also a great way to give them good job satisfaction. This keeps everyone happy and things will be good for all involved.
A staff reward doesn’t have to be anything hugely expensive, but it does have to be something your staff will want to work for. They aren’t in it just for the goods, they want to succeed as much as you do, but the little extras are always wonderful. You can also offer gift certificates for staff reward based on performance, even if you don’t have a lot of extra money to throw around at any given time. They don’t have to be very much, but make sure they are for places people like to go for shopping. I once got a reward for a store that no one I knew had even heard of let alone went shopping in. It was not worth my effort to go above and beyond for that.
A staff reward program can be simple or complex. It will depend on the size of your staff and what you all do at work each day. Sales people don’t need a staff reward program as much if they work for commission. They are already doing all that they can. It doesn’t mean you can’t offer one and it doesn’t mean they won’t love it. If you have sales but can’t pay by commission, a staff reward program will most definitely pick up moral and will motivate your staff.
If you don’t know what to do for a staff reward program, look on the Internet for some good ideas. You may find ideas that are suited to your budget and your type of business. You may also find examples of staff reward programs that have worked well and ones that have fallen flat time and time again. The main purpose of a reward is to give those who go above and beyond something to show you appreciate it, and it will motivate everyone to work harder. Look for a program you can afford, or come up with your own.
