Computer Fundamentals

Welcome

Welcome to All Computer Fundamentals Trainers

This page is specifically for all those Trainers who teach Computer Fundamentals on Mondays (AM & PM), Tuesdays (AM & PM) and Fridays (AM).

One-on-One Training

One-on-One Training

Depending on numbers on the waiting list, Computer Fundamentals is taught using the on-on-one method. Only when the waiting list gets too long may the Club consider running one or more group courses to reduce the waiting list.

Fun Trainer Responsibilities
  • Be familiar with the Fundamental manual's contents
  • Know your subject and if you are unsure of anything, ask the Senior Trainer (It is very helpful if you work through the exercises in your own time. This will ensure that you display confidence to your student during training)
  • Follow the manual closely and do not deviate into matters that are not covered in the manual. If you deviate it makes it very hard for any other Trainer to pick up from where you left off. It will also cause confusion for the student)
  • Listen carefully to the student so that you can identify any areas where the student is not confident - remember training is supposed to be fun!
  • If you have a student who is struggling with the material, for any reason, bring it to the attention of the Senior Trainer
  • If you find any area of the manual that seems unclear or incorrect, notify the Senior Trainer and/or Eleanor Ball
  • Pass on any suggestions from students to the Senior Trainer and/or Eleanor Ball
  • Look for potential Trainers and pass their names onto the Senior Trainer and/or Eleanor Ball
  • Make sure you have your Fundamentals manual and a pen
  • Be on time. If unable to attend, try and let the Senior Trainer know well before your assigned day
  • Check the student's sign-off card at the beginning of the session to establish where they are up to
  • Update the student's sign-off card before they leave:
    • Mark with a ü or an X if absent
(The X can only be done the next time the student attends)
    • Note sections completed in the session
    • Sign the card
