Chassis Here is the chassis back from the powder coaters after having custom engine mounts and roll bar mounts fitted.
Jag front end Here, the reconditioned Jaguar front end is fitted along with the rack and peanut steering and brake lines.
Jag diff Next is the reconditioned Jaguar rear end. Expensive ? - You bet !
Turbo engine fitted The Nissan RB30 turbo engine and trans feeling right at home.
Tail shaft Here is my 12 inch shaft !
Fuel tank The donor vehicles fuel tank fitted in quite nicely.
Fuel pump The fuel pump from the donor vehicle is mounted above the diff. with access via a removable panel in the boot.
Body fitted The body in place during one of its trial fits.

Foot box During this trial fit, the left hand foot well box was modified slightly to clear the exhaust manifold.
Door latch bars This shot shows the door latch bar work going in and panels for access to the rear calipers.
Engine Heat shield blanket is attached to the fire wall, the radiator is in place and engine plumbing has begun.
Ignition modules The wiring was next. Note the spare ignition module - just in case !
Simmons wheel The rolling things were fitted next. Simmons wheels supplied the F9R rims in 16 x 7 and 16 x 8, which were fitted with Yokohama A510 rubber in a 225/50 and 255/50.
Plumbing Here, the intercooler is fitted in front of the radiator and its plumbing is fabricated. Cruise control was thrown in about now - fantastic on long trips !
Cockpit The interior has been trimmed in black cow and VDO gauges display the vital signs. Sideways motion is kept in check with a Momo steering wheel. I have not painted the cobra, instead sticking with the gel coat finish which is proving to be quite durable.
Finsihed Cobra Here is the finished Cobra ! It's nice on the road with bags of smooth effortless power.
Thanks to Martin Evans for his assistance in getting this radical cobra off the ground.
Blue Cobra Here is cobra number two. The kit was sourced form Evans Sports Cars in South Australia. I went out on a limb with this vehicle and fitted a turbo charged, 3.0L, Nissan RB30 engine from the locally produced Holden Commodore. It produces bags of smooth, effortless, reliable power. The original JATCO four speed auto trans has been rebuilt to handle the extra grunt by Yarra Valley Automatics in Melbourne, Australia, who also supplied a 3000 rpm converter. The trans and converter package really gets things movin'. This car has run a 12.1 @ 113Mph. at Adelaide International Raceway. I might have to try street slicks next time and see if I can crack into the 11s.
Turbo engine The engine fitted in quite well on custom engine mounts with only a small mod to the left hand foot well box for exhaust manifold clearance. A huge intercooler sits in front of the custom four row radiator. Cooling is assisted by two 10 inch fans mounted on the radiator and one 12 inch fan mounted on the intercooler.
