TE Magna

Speedo Calibration

After fitting 16" Verada wheels with 215/60/16, the speedo was out by about 5Kph. @ 60Kph.

This calibration process has corrected the odometer too.

Instrument cluster removed from vehicle and black surround removed.

This shows the mounting holes for the speedo. Power and speed signal get into the speedo via the screws making contact with the flexi-track.

The calibration process was the same as for the Skyline. A 10K ohm, ten turn pot was wired in for the run on the dyno and then replaced by a fixed value resistor.

The resistor that had to be changed was a 6.2k ohm. The new value was 4.1k ohm - This was made up by using two 8.2k ohm resistors in parallel. They can be seen fitted in the top RHS of the photo.
