Ansett Anecdotes

These anecdotes were published in Ansett News, after hearing some of the strangest stories or comments from passengers or travel consultants booking flights or holiday packages. Others were from airline staff.

Ansett Airlines collapsed on 13 September 2001. Attempts to rescue the airline from financial trouble failed, after the Australian Government did all possible to assist those planning to resurrect Ansett. Gone, but not forgotten.

¡ Cathay Pacific Flight (25 November 1997)

This little gem was from a Cathay Pacific pilot - obviously one of the "gentlemen" mentioned in this story.

¡ Window Seat (11 November 1997)

Believe it or not, this is true, but it was actually a Reservations Sales Agent actually asked the question whilst booking the flight!
