Progressed
Moon

The
Progressed Moon through the chart is extremely important in
delineating the unfolding life and personality. The cycle from one
New Moon to the next is approximately 29.5 years and is usually
linked to the Saturn Return, as the approximate length of each cycle
is the same. An average lifetime will see 2-3 full and 2 part cycles,
depending on the Lunation Phase at birth. Meanings of each Lunation
Phase are set out below:
New
Moon = Emergence: This is the time of new beginnings, a winding down
of the old and the beginning of a new cycle of life. It is the time
when the seed of an idea is planted. This can be harrowing as we tend
to want to hold on to the old, because we are uncertain of where the
'new' will take us. Look at the sign and house of the New Moon to
show direction of growth, keeping in mind that the Progressed Moon
conjunct Natal Sun indicates a new beginning.
Crescent
Moon = Expansion: Approximately three years from the New Moon
emergence, seeds you planted begin manifestation, and direction of
growth is revealed. The time for 'new ideas' has passed and hopefully
you will be moving on from the old and embracing the new, weeding out
ideas or thoughts that no longer bear fruit, fostering only thoughts
and ideas which are the impetus for growth and expansion.
First
Quarter = Waxing Action: The cycle is well under way and physical
manifestation of the seeds is visible. This is the time for action
and assertion if conditions of the past are holding you back. You
need to be free of the old in order to move ahead with confidence and
be in control. You may be confronted or challenged during this cycle
by others who may wish to keep you on the old path for their own
reasons. Your seeds are strengthening but are still in need of
nurturing in order to bear fruit in the future.
Gibbous
Moon - Overcoming: By now you should be completely aware of, and at
ease with the energies that are so important to your growth. You now
require recognition of what you have achieved. This is a productive
time, but you may be challenged to stay on track. You are beginning
to see that your hard work has been worthwhile and your goals are in
sight. This can be a time when your confidence is tested. If the work
has not been done the fruits may not be what you expect and there may
not be a chance for you to get back on track.
Full
Moon = Fulfilment: You have now reached the culminating point in the
cycle. This is the time for you to harvest the fruit of the seeds you
planted 14 years ago, as long as you planted the right seeds. If all
went well you reap the rewards, but if you haven't properly cared for
or nurtured the seedlings then you nay end up with a nice crop of
weeds. This is harvest time. Things may happen that assist you to
take an objective look at what you have or have not achieved. Whether
you feel you have achieved a great deal or not much at all it is
important to look at this objectively and recognise the reasons why
it has happened, this is a time when lessons ca be learned.
Disseminating
Moon = Synthesis: This is the time to process and share your harvest
and your knowledge with others. Try to absorb and fully understand
the lessons you have learned through these progressions, and
integrate them within the framework of your life philosophy.
Third
Quarter = Waning Reorientation: This is also a time for action, a
different kind of action from the first quarter. it's a time of
sharpening your skills, coming from knowledge of past action. The
essence is now absorbed and becomes a part of us - Bernadette Brady
likens it to 'making wine from the fruit'. Sometimes, especially
toward the end of this cycle a vague dissatisfaction can seep in and
you may start to wonder if you may have done better with a different
crop. You are beginning to wind down this cycle.
Balsamic
Moon = Release: You have reached the end of your cycle of growth and
it is now time to clear the land for the new crop. This is the time
when people who have played an important role in your life may leave,
or things you have counted as important may go, leaving an empty
space in your life. This is the time when you need to let go of
people and things from the past that are no longer needed for the
next phase of your growth. Initially you mourn their loss, but
ultimately acknowledge why they have gone and move on with your life.
You are aware that the Universe has something planned for you so the
path of least resistance is the best way to go. This is the time to
'let go and trust in the universe' or the universe may force your hand.
