Programming >> Java

You are here:

Welcome to my Java Programming Page, here you will learn how to  Program in Java

INTRODUCTION

Java 2 was introduced  in 1998. Since this is one language that can be used for both WWW and local computers it is fast becoming more popular.

Before you can start to program in Java you'll need to get your hands on a JDK. JDK stands for Java Development Kit. It is basically a set of tools that allow you to set up and create Java programs.

You can install the kit from Sun's website........Once installed to your Hard Drive you will need to do a few things before you can get it running.

Because the JDK is not a GUI program, it is much more difficult then usual, because you have to actually type in the commands rather than mouse clicks......

Ok lets get started, simply click on the next button below to move onto setting up your JDK...................................

JavaMailTM 1.2 Release
Dec, 09 2000 - 06:51
contributed by: Caboom

The JavaMailTM 1.2 API contains a number of enhancements to improve the usability and performance of the JavaMailTM 1.2 API. This release also contains additional bug fixes.

The JavaMailTM 1.2 API provides a set abstract classes that model a mail system. The API provides a platform independent and protocol independent framework to build Java technology-based mail and messaging applications. The JavaMailTM API is implemented as a Java platform optional package and is also available as part of the Java 2 platform, Enterprise Edition. Sun provides a royalty-free reference implementation, in binary form, that developers will be able to use and ship. The POP3 service provider is now bundled in JavaMailTM 1.2.
