Street Appeal

The Canberra Blind Society (CBS) seeks your participation in CBS Annual Street Appeal, which will take place on Friday 8 May and Saturday 9 May 2009.  CBS held its first button day appeal which is now known as Street Appeal in 1979.

Over the years members of government departments have participated in our Street Appeal and have collected donations in and around their buildings on the day of the Appeal.  CBS members and Volunteers in the community as well as students from Government and non government High Schools also assist in collecting donations at various shopping centres throughout the ACT.

The role of CBS is to help our clients, regardless of age, to manage the effects of blindness and to encourage them to be fully participating members of the community. All funds raised will be put to very good use in helping more than 550 people in the ACT to manage the effects of lack or loss of vision.

If you are a public spirited person and would be willing to assist please contact Debra on 6247 4580 between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday or by email canblind@tpg.com.au
