Tuesday Club
Tuesday Club is held once a month to enable older clients to meet and share a light lunch. Transport can be arranged if necessary. Lunch begins at 12.30pm either in the CBS rooms or in Room 1 at the Griffin Centre.
Discussion Group
Discussion Group enables clients to meet, discuss issues of interest, attend community events and the like. Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month and normally commence at 10am at the CBS rooms.
Shop and Cook
Shop and Cook is held on the third Friday of each month at 10.00am in the CBS rooms. Sessions give clients the opportunity to learn about what is available in supermarkets and to cook and sample simple and nutritious meals using a microwave oven. These sessions are designed to renew confidence in using old skills as well as sharing information and perhaps learning some new safer and easier ways to cook. Please call if you wish to attend.
Braille Tuition
Training sessions in Braille are held weekly on Wednesday afternoons at 1.30pm and Thursday mornings at 9.30am. Tuition is extended to both sighted and vision impaired persons. Lesson plans for individuals allow them to progress at their own pace to a desired level of competence.
Please call the office if you are interested in joining any of the above groups.
See also our Newsletter page for other activities. In addition to the ongoing services above, CBS provides additional services to clients on a needs basis. See Special Programs for further information.
