2. Edward Garde, son of John Garde, born 1781 and died 1877 (Burial records: age 96) in Ballybranigan C of I Agheda Cork,  Ireland. Edward married Margaret Shannahan in Ireland.
   When Edward came to Australia in 1841 his father was still alive.

3. Edward Gard, son of Edward and Margaret Gard nee Shanahan, was born 26th January 1818 in Ballybranaghan, County Cork Ireland and died July 1908, age 88yrs in Maclean NSW. Edward married Ann Doherty, daughter of Philip Doherty and Mary O'Dougharty, in St. Joseph's Church East Maitland NSW, on the 1st February 1850. The priest was Rev. Father J. Kenny and the witnesses were Daniel Logue and Catherine Connolly, both of Rosebank. Ann was born 1833 in Ramalton, Co. Donegal, Ireland and died 21st July 1907, age 74yrs, at Grafton NSW.

4. Mary Agnes Gard, daughter of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, was born on the 21st November 1850 in Williams River NSW and baptised on 5th January 1851 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland. Her sponsors were Bernard Doherty and Catherine Logue. Mary married John Joseph Malone, son of Philip Malone and Mary Carroll, on the 7th September 1873 at Rocky Mouth NSW. Mary died on the 30th December 1939 [bdm 4770 Lismore] in NSW and John died October 1920 [bdm 17119 Casino] NSW.

5. Edward Gard, son of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, born 27th February 1852 and married Elizabeth (Bessie) Manning, daughter of John and Bridget Manning nee Hayes, in 1880 [bdm 3467 Grafton] in NSW.. Edward was a member of the Harwood Island Public School Committee in 1871. 'Bessie' was born in 1851 and died on Monday 22nd July 1909 (age 53 years) in Maclean and Edward died on 10th November 1939 in Maclean, both are buried in the Catholic Section of the Maclean Cemetery, Maclean NSW.

6. Phillip Gard, son of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, born 23rd April 1853 and married Ellen C. Hayes in 1885 in Maclean NSW. Helen was born in 1861 in Wales and died 26th August 1933 at the Home of Peace, Marrickville NSW. Philip died in 1940 in Sydney NSW.

8. Patrick Gard, son of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, born 17th January 1856 at Williams River NSW and died in 1934 in Grafton NSW. He Never married.
    
9. Daniel Gard, son of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, born 7th September 1857 [bdm 10829] in Raymond Terrace NSW and died in 1942 in Sydney. Midwife for Daniels birth was Mary Doherty. Daniel married Margaret J. Walters, daughter of Franz and Sophia Walters, in 1884 [bdm 4922] in Grafton NSW. Margaret was born in 1861 and died 5th January 1940 in Waverly NSW. They resided in Bondi Junction, a suburb of Sydney NSW.

16. Michael Joseph Gard, son of Edward and Ann Gard nee Doherty, born 1872 at Harwood Island NSW. Michael married Maud Graham on the 24th October 1891 in Palmer Island, Clarence River NSW. Maud was born in 1872 at West Maitland NSW. Michael died on 2nd June 1938, age 65yrs.,  in St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney and is buried in the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Roman Catholic Section (Row 2 - Grave 148) and Maud is buried in the same grave. Maud died 20th July 1947 age 74yrs. at Ashfield NSW.
