Donegal, Ireland, arrived in Sydney, with his parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 20th December 1895, age 80yrs., at Raymond Terrace NSW. Patrick, of Nelsons Plains, married Ann 'Nancy' Gallen, daughter of William Gallen and Bridget Gallagher of Phoenix Park, on the 17th April 1842 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland NSW. The priest was Rev. Father E. Mahony and the witnesses were John Gallen and Jane Carr.  Ann or Nancy, born 22nd June 1822 in Donoughmore, Co. Donegal, arrived in Sydney, with her parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 16th July 1890, age 70yrs., in Morpeth NSW. Patrick and Ann resided at Brandon, Seaham NSW.

Mary married (1)Robert Skinner of Morpeth NSW in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland NSW on the 7th January 1843; Rev. Edmund Mahony officiated and witnessed by John and Mary Gallen nee Moy. Robert arrived in Sydney aboard the "Charles Kerr" on the 9th October 1837 and died 13th April 1847 at the age of 39 years.

    Mary Skinner nee Doherty married (2) Owen Hughes of Williams River NSW in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland NSW on the 18th February 1849; Rev. Patrick Nagennis officiated and witnessed by John and Margaret Connolly. Owen arrived aboard the "Hercules II (2)" on the 31st October 1830 from Dublin Ireland and died 17th October 1855.

    Mary Hughes nee Doherty married (3) Joseph Allpress in St. Bridget's Church, Raymond Terrace NSW on the 24th April 1866; Rev. P. J. Quinlivan  officiated and witnessed by Edward Gard and Catherine Logue.
    Mary died 23rd March 1877 in Glenlivett. Joseph died 1st April 1869. There were no children of this marriage.
     
  4. Bridget Doherty, daughter of Philip and Mary Doherty nee O'Dougharty, born 17th April 1823 in Ramelton, Co. Donegal, Ireland, arrived in Sydney, with her parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 28th March 1893, age 70, at Maclean NSW. Bridget married John Nolan (Nowlan born 1820, Co. Wicklow), son of Martin Nowlan and Bridget Young, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland NSW on the 14th May 1843; Rev. Edmund Mahony officiated and witnessed by Bernard Doherty of Williams River and Mary Gallen of Millers Forrest. John arrived in Sydney aboard the "Berkshire" on the 13th March 1844 and died 1st October 1885, age 65.

Catherine married Daniel Logue of Morpeth, son of Charles Logue and Margaret Bracey, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Maitland NSW on the 25th January 1848; Rev. P. Maginnis officiated and witnessed by John Carey of Morpeth and Ellen Maher of West Maitland. Daniel arrived in Sydney aboard the "Resource" on the 22nd December 1840 and died ?.

  7.  Ann Doherty, daughter of Philip and Mary Doherty nee O'Dougharty, born Abt. 1833 in Ramelton, Co. Donegal, Ireland, arrived in Sydney, with her parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 21st July 1907, age 74yrs, at Grafton NSW. Ann married Edward Gard, son of Edward Gard and Margaret Shanahan, in St. Joseph's Church East Maitland NSW, on the 1st February 1850. The priest was Rev. Father J. Kenny and the witnesses were Daniel Logue and Catherine Connolly, both of Rosebank.

  8. Hannah Doherty, daughter of Philip and Mary Doherty nee O'Dougharty, born 1835 in Ramelton, Co. Donegal, Ireland, arrived in Sydney, with her parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 26th September 1916, age 81yrs, at Ulmarra NSW. Hannah married John Noonan, son of Catherine and Michael James Noonan, in St. Joseph's Church East Maitland NSW, on the 30th August 1860; officiated by Rev. Father J. Kenny and the witnesses were Thomas Donnelly and Bridget Sweeney. They moved to the Clarence River and lived at Ulmarra.

Donegal, Ireland, arrived in Sydney, with his parents, aboard the "Herald" on the 15th July 1841 and died 7th February 1918, age 76yrs, at Wickham and buried at Sandgate Cemetery NSW. Bernard married Sarah Doherty, daughter of Michael Doherty and Ellen McKenna, on the 5th June 1866 at St. Bridget's Church, Raymond Terrace NSW; Rev. P. J. O'Quinlivan officiated and witnessed by John Nolan and Sarah McLaughlin. Sarah born Abt. 1847 in Ireland and arrived in Australia aboard "Beejapore" in 1853. Sarah died 1920 and is buried at Sandgate Cemetery NSW.

  11. Patrick Doherty, son of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 26th March 1843 at Nelsons Plains NSW. In 1872 Patrick and his brother William travelled north to Northern Queensland, selling horses on the way. They sought work in the mines at Charters Towers and when gold was discovered further north on the Palmer River they decided to leave the mines, go north to the gold fields and use their horses as pack teams to carry supplies between Palmer and the Port of Cooktown. While up north Patrick drew a land grant in the Rockhampton area and settled there. Patrick returned home to married Mary Dwyer, daughter of William Dwyer and Margaret Fogarty of Hinton about 1875. He returned north to Rockhampton with his bride and settled in Rockhampton. Patrick died 12th February 1885 of pneumonia, age 41 and after his death his family moved to Sydney.

  12. Bridget Doherty, daughter of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 2nd February 1845 at Millers Forrest NSW. Bridget married James Laurence Connolly, son of James Connolly and Elizabeth Coffey at St. Bridget's Church, Raymond Terrace NSW, on the 28th August 1866. Bridget died 5th October 1913 aged 69 years and James died 22nd October 1915, aged 78 years. They are buried at Tatham Cemetery on the Richmond River NSW.

  13. Mary Doherty, daughter of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 6th October 1846 at Millers Forrest NSW. Mary was baptised at East Maitland by Father P. Magennis and died at the age of 20 years.

     
  14. William Doherty, son of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 24th September 1848 at Millers Forrest NSW. William married Sarah Ann Dunn, daughter of John and Sarah Savage  nee Dunn, on the 26th January 1881. Rev. John Cani, V.G. officiated and the witnesses were Malochi McGrath and Prudence Norris, the bride's step sister.
    In 1872 William and his older brother Patrick travelled north to Northern Queensland, selling horses on the way. Many tales were told by Bill of the happenings in the "Early Days". After Patrick left for Rockhampton, Bill continued with the team and used drays to transport goods along the new road. He was known as the "King of the Road". After his marriage he and his bride lived at Normandy River, west of Cooktown, then Cooktown itself. In 1902 they moved to Ebagoola Gold Field in the centre of Cape York Peninsula where Bill had the general store. William "Bill" died November 1919 in Cairns Qld and his wife, Sarah, died there in November 1935 and both are buried in Cooktown Qld Australia.

  15. Anne Doherty, daughter of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 10th November 1850 at Millers Forrest NSW and baptised at East Maitland by Rev. John Kenny. She was housekeeper for Father Nealon at Raymond Terrace. She entered the Sisters of Mercy, Singleton and was professed as Sister Monica on the 28th April 1886. She Died at Singleton on the 28th August 1918.
     
  16. Catherine Doherty, daughter of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 1st August 1852 at Millers Forrest NSW and baptised at East Maitland by Rev. John Kenny. She died with measles on 3rd December 1867, 3 months after her sister Mary.
     
  17. Philip Doherty, son of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 25th April 1854 at Millers Forrest NSW. Philip married Elizabeth Ann Noonan, daughter of David and Mary Noonan nee Connolly of Crawford River, Bulahdelah, on the 10th June 1889. Philip brought his bride to Millers Forrest where he and his brother James worked the family farm. Philip died 15th February 1929 and Elizabeth died on the 17th June 1945. They are buried in Raymond Terrace Cemetery.

  18. Rose Therese Doherty, daughter of Patrick and Ann Doherty nee Gallen, born 25th April 1854 at Millers Forrest NSW. Rose married William Patrick Campbell, son of Robert and Ann Campbell nee Mooney of Cabbage Tree, Raymond Terrace, on the 20th August 1884 in St. Bridget's Church, Raymond Terrace NSW Australia. The officiating priest was Rev. Thomas Nealon and the witnesses were Philip and Margaret Doherty. Rose was house keeping for Fr. Nealon at the time of her marriage. Bill took Rose to live at Kelso-ville (five miles north of the Terrace) after their marriage. There he had a bullock team where he used to transport Timber.
