  1. William Coughlan, born in Ireland, married Mary Wright at Aghada Parish, County Cork Ireland on the 8th January 1814.

    Children of William and Mary Coughlan nee Wright:
        i)      Thomas Coughlan, born January 1816 at Aghada Parish, County Cork, Ireland.

  3. William Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born at Saleen, Aghada Parish, County Cork, Ireland in 1866. William married Ellen Garde, daughter of Benjamin and Catherine Garde nee Cashman, at Aghada Parish, County Cork, Ireland on the 8th January 1866. Ellen born in 1839. William served in the British Navy and died in 1917.

        i)      William Coughlan, born January 1867.
        ii)      Benjamin Coughlan, born 1868.
        iii)     Eileen Coughlan, born 1898.
        iv)     Kathleen Coughlan, born 1899.
        v)      Wilfred Coughlan, born 1900.
        vi)     Gerald Noel Coughlan, born 1903.
        vii)     Rupert John Coughlan, born in Youghal 27th May 1907.
        viii)    John Coughlan.

  4. William Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born January 1867 and died in 1945. William married Ellen Hannah Kavanagh on 26th September 1895 at Youghal. Ellen born 29th January 1873 and had no family.
     

  5. Benjamin Joseph Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born 1868 and died in 1947. Benjamin married Mary O'Mahoney. Benjamin went to Boston USA in 1898 but went back to Ireland in the 1930's.

    Children of Benjamin and Mary Coughlan nee O'Mahoney:-
        i)     Mary Coughlan.
     

  6. Eileen Coughlan, daughter of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born 1898 and married Stanislaus Ernest Fitzgibbon.
     

  7. Kathleen Coughlan, daughter of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born 1899.

     

  8. Wilfred Coughlan, daughter of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born 1900.

     

  9. Gerald Noel Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born 1903.

     

  10. Rupert John Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, born in Youghal 27th May 1907.

     

  11. John Coughlan, son of William and Ellen Coughlan nee Garde, married Margaret Nagle of Co. Cork. The family were all born at Ladysbridge, Co. Cork. John joined the Boston Police and rose to the rank of Captain.
    4th Generation
     

  12. Mary Coughlan, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Coughlan, born in Boston Mass. Mary entered the Sisters of Mercy, Wilkes-Barre, in September 1928. Sister Mary Christopher was the Superior and teaching Principal at St Therese's School, Wilkes-Barre PA.
