Bowen Family

1. Edward Bowen, son of Cornelius and Mary Bowen nee Broderick of Lidney married Helena 'Ellen' Doherty, daughter of Patrick Doherty and Ann Gallen, on the 5th November 1889 in St. Bridget's Church, Raymond Terrace NSW Australia. Ellen born 12th January 1860 at Millers Forrest NSW and died 12th January 1913 and is buried at Raymond Terrace.
   
   Children of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty:-
       i)       Ann Bowen, born 28th February 1891.
       ii)      Mary Bowen, born 31st March 1892.
       iii)     John Bowen, born 29th April 1893.
       iv)     Margaret Ellen Bowen, born 25th February 1895.
       v)      Edward James Bowen, born 10th November 1896.
       vi)     Dymphna Nagdalen Bowen, born 18th March 1898.
       vii)    Imelda Bowen, born 27th March 1900.
       viii)   Monica Bowen, born 9th September 1901.

2. Ann Bowen (Nance), daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 28th February 1891. Ann married Victor Strong who had served in World War 1 and remained in the army. Nance died 11th October 1941.
   
   Children of Victor and Ann Strong nee Bowen:-
       i)      Howard Strong.
       ii)     John Strong.
       iii)    Lionel Strong.
    

3. Mary Bowen, daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 31st March 1892. Mary married William Ambrose Gazzard. They lived in Sydney.
   
   Children of William and Mary Gazzard nee Bowen:-
       i)      Leonard Gazzard.
       ii)     Joan Gazzard.
       iii)    Helen Gazzard.
       iv)    Patricia Gazzard.
       v)     John Gazzard.
    

4. John Bowen, son of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 29th April 1893.
   
    

5. Margaret Ellen Bowen, daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 25th February 1895. Margaret married George Rome. They had no children.
   
    

6. Edward James Bowen (Jim), son of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 10th November 1896.  Jim married Jane O'Brien, daughter of Christopher and Margaret O'Brien. Jim and Jane lived at Hexham. Jim died in 1970.
   
   Children of Jim and Jane Bowen nee O'Brien:-
       i)      Edward Bowen.
       ii)     Allen Bowen.
       iii)    Archibald Bowen.
       iv)    Maureen Bowen.
    

7. Dymphna Nagdalen Bowen, daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 18th March 1898. Dymphna married Reginald Gibson of Newcastle.
   
   Children of Reginald and Dymphna Gibson nee Bowen:-
       i)      Joyce Gibson.
       ii)     John Gibson.
       iii)    Basil Gibson.
    

8. Imelda Bowen, daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 27th March 1900. Imelda married Herbert Delaney. They lived in Newcastle.
   
   Children of Hebert and Imelda Delaney nee Bowen:-
       i)      Joan Delaney.
    

9. Monica Bowen, daughter of Edward and Ellen Bowen nee Doherty, born 9th September 1901. Monica married Blake Young and lived in Melbourne.
   
   Children of Blake and Monica Young nee Bowen:-
       i)     Elaine Young.
       ii)    Dymphna Young.
