10. Thomas Armstrong, born 27th June 1825 at Kildonan, Sutherland Scotland. Thomas married Jessie Sutherland on 19th December 1852 at Kildonan, Sutherland Scotland & died 16th May 1878, age 52.
    
    
    Research Notes
    Why in the 1841 census was Alexander (18), Thomas (16) and Christina (10) living in the Telfer household in Craggy, Sutherland, along with James Armstrong (20)? In the 1841 census, William & Ann along with their children,Mary (14) and George (12), were living in Kilurnan, Sutherland. In the 1851 census, William & Ann along with their children, Thomas (25), Mary (22), George (22) and Chirsty (20),  were living in Fielearrean, Sutherland. Where is Alexander, is he the
    Private Alexander Armstrong who enlisted in the 72nd Highlanders at Thurso ( County Caithness ) on 20th December 1849, aged 20years and 9months? He was married on the 13th April 1847, 2 years & 8 months earlier, which puts his age as 18years and 1 month. According to his army record, alexander was born in March 1829. Alexander died on 21st October 1901 at the age of 71 years which puts his birth year abt. 1829.
    On the 23rd November 1851 an Alexander Armstrong married Barbara Thomson in Kildonan, Sutherland Scotland. Alexander, William and Ann Armstrong nee Sutherland, would have been 28 years old.
    I feel our Alexander is a descendant of this family but where does he fit in? Is he the son of John Armstrong who has a daughter Janet, born 4th April 1813 in Latheron, Caithness?
