Pensacola news journal

Pensacola News Journal - The Pensacola News Journal is the largest newspaper serving Northwest Florida. Headquartered in the Florida Panhandle, the Pensacola News Journal has been in operation for years and continues to be a highly regarded news leader in all of Northwest Florida.

Throughout Florida’s hurricane season -- which was particularly active in 2004 -- the Pensacola News Journal provides a hurricane guide that is used by people throughout the State of Florida and in other countries affected by the hurricanes that sweep through the Atlantic Ocean region.

After the four hurricanes that pounded Florida in 2004, the Pensacola News Journal did a feature story in its hurricane guide section in regard to a devastating hurricane that racked Pensacola and the region in 1926. As the Pensacola News Journal reports:

“the Hurricane of 1926 is the closest thing to "the big one" Pensacola has experienced in modern times. It is not a memory anyone who lived through the storm is eager to see replicated locally.

“survivors of the 1926 storm are dwindling. They were children, then but they have never forgotten.

“they remember the howling winds. They remember the water moccasins that invaded their flooded homes. They remember the smell of dead livestock and family pets in the streets in the days after the storm blew through.”

The hurricane guide provided by the Pensacola News Journal has page after page of comprehensive information on hurricane preparedness that is incomparable.

In addition to publishing a daily newspaper, the Pensacola News Journal also has a strong Internet presence. The Pensacola News Journal regularly is updated to contain the latest breaking news from North Florida, the entire State of Florida and around the world.

In addition to its intricate hurricane guide, the Pensacola News Journal has provided award winning coverage of hurricanes and other events of interest in Florida and the region. The paper is likely to continue to be a leading news provider in the State of Florida and the Southern United States on into the future.
