Scott Trade - Established in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1980, Scottrade relocated its headquarters to St. Louis, Mo., in 1982 and began branching out across the country promoting deeply discounted commissions placed by telephone through a broker. In the fall of 1996, Scottrade introduced online trading at Scottrade.com to its already substantial customer base.
Scottrade allows individual investors to conveniently, comfortably and cost-efficiently place trades online, while offering the service and added assurance of 218 branch offices. The company, created to provide premium service with deeply discounted commissions, currently maintains more than 1.4 million individual accounts. On average, Scottrade executes more than 60,000 online trades each day.

Prices vary on other methods of trading at Scottrade, which includes touch-tone phone, wireless trading or broker-assisted trades at one of 218 branch locations. Option accounts are also available. But as a deep discount brokerage, Scottrade does not provide investment advice.
