Who I Am
My name is Bill Bryant and I reside on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I started in IT in 1979 as an apprentice (that'll give my age away) with the Ministry of Defence in the UK. In the intervening years I have owned and run small businesses (so I know what your pressures are), run major IT projects for large global organisations and even spent a couple of years as a Bank Manager - until the year 2000 issue came along and the bank decided to utilise my IT skills to help guide them through the Y2K maze. It was a relief for me as I hated being a Bank Manager. I moved to Australia in 2003 whilst working for an American global IT consultancy. Needless to say, now that I am a bona fide Australian citizen, there is no way I am moving back.
What I Believe
I have a permanent contract for work in Brisbane. This contract is sufficient to pay my bills, keep the roof over my head and the wolf from the door. Therefore, the work I undertake as Aspect Multimedia is regarded by me as "extra" income (although the tax man has a different view on that). In general, life is kind to me and I seek ways of keeping my karma balance in credit. So I wish to use the knowledge and skills I have to help others. That is why I won't rip you off or seek ways to make profit (and more profit) out of you. Often, I will give you knowledge and advice for free. I will only charge a nominal amount (way, way, way below the market rates) for my time if I have to conduct research or do any actual work on your behalf - and I will not try and sell you something you don't need. In fact, I won't sell you anything. I will advise you on what to buy to meet your needs. I won't advise you to buy a Ferrari if all you really need is a Fiat. I also believe that there is not a shred of evidence to suggest that life has to be serious. Have fun ... and do it with enthusiasm.
