PAST CONTEST RESULTS

BANSW State Solos 2010

The 2010 BANSW State Solo and Party Championships will be held on the weekend of 26/27 June 2010 at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. Entries will close at Close of Business on 14 Mat 2010.

ALL music for this contest will be OWN CHOICE. Players are encouraged to submit their solo part (with numbered bars for adjudication) with their entries, otherwise music must be submitted at registration on the day of the contest. Players intending on using the official accompanist must submit accompaniments for their chosen works with their entries. If photocopies of music are submitted please note that they will be destroyed by BANSW after the contest in compliance with Australian Copyright law.

Slow Melody and Jazz Solo events will feature again as they did in 2009.

Entry fees are as follows:
Brass and Woodwind Solos - $20
Single Percussion Event - $20
2 Percussion Events (same age group) - $35
3 Percussion Events (same age group) - $40
4 Percussion Events (same age group) - $45

BANSW State Band Championships 2010

The 2010 BANSW State Band Championships for OPEN bands will be held on the weekend of 25/26 September at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith. JUNIOR bands will be held at a date to be confirmed shortly. BANSW will also conduct a festival for Jazz and Stage Bands as part of the 2010 State Band Championships. More information will be announced early in the new year.

Test music selections will be released by early February 2010

VERY IMPORTANT: Registration Cut Off Dates

 Please note the registration and permit player closing dates for the year 2009.

Band secretaries and musical directors are reminded that all player registrations, clearance forms and permits need to be finalised 6 weeks prior to the date of contest.

No registrations, clearances or permits will be accepted inside the six week period.

.Band Secretaries - please note it is your responsibility to ensure that all of your players are registered. No excuses to the contrary will be accepted after the closing dates. This is in accordance with by-laws 2c and 11a.

All player transfers also require a clearance form to be sent with the new registration form in accordance with by-law 2d. No registration transfers will be accepted without a clearance form or within six weeks of a contest.

Local permit forms are required 14 days prior to the commencement of the national championships and prior to the commencement of our State and Branch contests, as per by-law 22a. Interstate and overseas permits are also required 14 days prior to the commencement of our National, State and Branch contests for verification purposes.
