BANSW has a number of awards for outstanding members, including Life Membership, Awards of Merit and Long Service Awards.
The Life Membership award is rarely given out and presented only to members who have made a most significant contribution to the development of the Banding community in NSW over a significant period. 
Awards of Merit are presented to members who have made a great contribution to the movement but over a long period of time and where the Association feels that an appropriate expression of thanks needs to be made.
Long Service Awards are presented to recognise the long term membership of Band members with the Assoiciation.
The Young Band Person of the Year award is awarded to a Band Person aged 25 or under who has shown large amounts of development over the year, as well as contributing to the organisation or administration of their band.
