Libby commenced training privately in the Western District for Moonee Valley Committee member Noel Calvert in the early 1980's. Upon returning to the Mornington Peninsula, Libby took out a Permit to Train. A 20 acre property was purchased in Boneo (on the Mornington Peninsula) in 1998 and has been established to cater specifically for gallopers. The facilities include 16 walk in/walk out stables and yards, 15 larger paddocks for spelling, a private sand track, a round yard and close access to the beach and lovely sand trails through the national park. All fast work is carried out at Mornington.
The Boneo property "Tideways Park" achieved immediate success with multiple city winning, Group 2 placed, Rustic Mist. Other city winners included Mr Narcissus (Sandown Country Cup winner in track record time), Bundy Bear and Lady of Perfection. Many other winners have continued to follow including the unusual feat of race day doubles by the same two horses Raging Hazard and Tubbarubba Lady at different venues! Recent winner Rustic Moon carries the hope of better things to come.
Libby loves the constant
challenge of training thoroughbreds, believing
strongly in a hands-on approach and still
enjoys riding a lot of her own trackwork. New Clients are always welcome and hopefully we can help you to win races and have lots of fun doing so.
Libby Haworth: Training fees per
day - $38.50 (inc GST) + expenses.
