An electric fly swatter

Electric Fly Swatter - Have you ever killed a bug in your home only to realize that you now have to clean up the remains that have become splattered all over your window Whenever a fly is inside a house it seems to migrate right to the window. This is probably because of the light but if you are the one responsible for killing the fly you know that it’s also one of the most difficult surfaces to clean. An electric fly swatter takes care of both the annoying insect and the window splatter since it doesn’t leave any at all.

Unlike a standard plastic version the electric model kills the fly by electrocuting it. This means that when you touch the insect with the electric fly swatter it instantly dies. You can then pick up the remains, which will be in one piece, and throw them away. This enables you to get close enough to the insect to zap it yet you don’t have to worry about what you will be hitting it against. Even when it’s very close to a lampshade or a mirror you can touch it with the electric fly swatter and it will be dead.

Wasps are not only a nuisance in mid to late summer but they can be very dangerous as well. If you or a member of your family has an allergy to wasp stings you have probably spent time indoors avoiding them. This can be frustrating, especially to a child who wants to run outside and play. With an electric fly swatter it makes it much easier to control how close a wasp gets to you. If you see one flying near you, you simply hit it with the swatter. The moment the electric fly swatter makes contact with the wasp, it’s dead. This makes it a must have for all those summer and fall family camping trips.

Just as it works for wasps it will do the same for bees and hornets. Anytime you have a family gathering outdoors it’s a good idea to have one handy in case a pesky insect decides to join the party.

Children, especially those fascinated with all things insects, will probably want to give this a try. It’s important to remember that it is dangerous and if the child happens to touch the netting part of the electric fly swatter they can be electrocuted just as a bug would. Granted the shock isn’t going to severely hurt them but it will be enough to frighten them. If you do want to indulge them, allow them to hold it while you firmly place your hands over theirs. This way they get the feel of instantly killing a bug, without the danger.
