Learn about cat leash

Cat Leash - Being that I own no cats at all, I never really thought about a cat leash. In fact, when my sister told me that she was going shopping for this very item, I was a little confused. I had no idea that a cat leash even existed. Who ever heard of walking your feline like a dog

The whole thing seemed a little odd to me but my sister insisted that cats can be trained to walk with a cat leash. I figured that she was pulling my leg on this one but I decided to go with her to the store to see for myself. I had never seen a cat leash and I certainly had never seen a feline taken for a walk with one in my life.

We entered the store and there it was; a cat leash that offered information on how to train your feline to walk outside while leashed. I was pretty taken back by the whole thing but after thinking about it, I do believe that it is a great idea. That is, if it actually works. There are many reasons that you might want to train your pet to use a cat leash.

First of all, many felines love the outdoors but the outdoors can be very dangerous for these pets. A feline can become ill or injured if left outside to wander alone. There are dangers when it comes to bothering the neighbors and there are great dangers when it comes to traffic in the neighborhood.

However, many cat owners like my sister insist that felines need to spend some time outdoors in order to live happy, healthy lives. A cat leash offers a great solution to the dilemma. The pet can enjoy some fresh air and the owner doesn’t have to worry about illness, injury or bothering the neighbors.

While the idea of a cat leash is wonderful in theory, I had a hard time believing that a feline could be trained to work with one. I was really surprised that my sister managed to work with her kitten to get him to use his cat leash. The process was time-consuming but it worked.

She used a harness cat leash instead of a collar for the training period. Felines are relatively fragile and you don’t want to train a cat by using a collar around the neck. A harness fits around the animal’s upper legs comfortably and without the threat of coking or injuring the pet.

Now my sister takes her feline out for a walk just as her neighbors take their dogs. The cat leash does exist and a cat can be trained to use it properly.
