The Aboriginal International Friendship Foundation Incorporated (AIFF Inc), is a registered charity, controlled by the Metropolitan Noongar Circle of Elders. The Chairman, Mr Robin Yarran, is a traditional owner of the Ballardong area, of Noongar Country.
The main focus of this organisation is to assist self determination for Aboriginal people through joint venture enterprise development. The AIFF Inc supports the work of the Noongar Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (NLCAC) and pays all overheads and expenses.
The CEO and Registered Public Officer is Peter David. He represents the NLCAC in legal matters before the Federal Court on a voluntary basis as the NLCAC has no funding from the Crown. Dissatisfied with previous representations, the Noongar Elders elected Mr David to speak for them to reclaim Noongar land and waters.
Mr David is also the Administrator of the AIFF Inc which has undertaken 14 Work For The Dole programs.
The AIFF Inc also promotes understanding of Aboriginal issues and reconciliation within the community by involving all nationalities in its activities.
The AIFF Inc is a Registrated GIFT RECEIPIENT Organisation by the ATO and can conduct fund raising activities.
We conduct paid work through our trading name PGT Enterprises that does car repairs (panel and paint and some mechanical work) and other machinery and vehicle spray painting. PGT also does commercial and domestic painting (Reg. No. 1755).
The Noongar Land Council Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated on the 11th May 1995. It is the only Registered Prescribed Body Corporate, empowered to act on Noongar affairs as in accordance with section 251B. and section 62A. of the Native Title Act 1993-98
Peter David is the authorised spokesman and registered public officer for the NLCAC. He represents all registered underlying land claims over the entire area of Noongar Country. The NLCAC is currently a respondent in the Single Noongar Land Claim in Federal Court. Its aim in these proceedings is for Crown recognition of indigenous custodianship of Noongar land.
These matters have been in the Federal Court since 2003 and we hope to have a favourable decision in the near future.
