About Goondiwindi Travel Centre
Goondiwindi Travel Centre was established in 1970 and has traded under only two owners in that time – Peter Harney & Graeme Scheu. Current owner, Graeme Scheu, is a long standing member of the community and has lived in Goondiwindi since 1976.
Graeme enjoyed a wonderful grounding with the time spent in the Pastoral House – Australian Estates in the early years. It is this grounding that has come to serve him well in fully understanding the needs and requirements of all passengers.
Now with over 20 years of service to the Travel Industry, arrangements made for clients by Goondiwindi Travel are well received and the reputation for good, honest reliable service is guaranteed with every booking.
In the 20 years of trading, Goondiwindi Travel has operated a number of successful tours. The first was an overseas tour incorporating the Goondiwindi Cricket Team to Singapore. The second was the Goondiwindi Rugby Union team which played and toured the USA. Since those original tours, the concentration has been mainly on racing tours and the flagship tour, the “Radio 4WK Melbourne Cup Racing Tour” led by Clifford Park race caller Pat O’Shea has grown from 16 passengers in 1991 to what looks like topping 100 passengers in 2007. Not all tours are racing tours though and a number of general interest tours to Ireland, Canada & New Zealand have also been a great success.
So if you are in the 30 plus age group and looking forward to the trip of a lifetime, you can be rest assured that one of the Goondiwindi Travel Centre tours will suit. Ask any past passenger and you will get the same answer. After all, repeat passengers are surely the best recommendation you can get.
Hi,
I am Pat O’Shea. I have been involved with Goondiwindi Travel Centre since the very first Melbourne Cup tour way back in 1991. In that time, the tours have cemented a number of lasting friendships which I believe comes from the type of tour that Graeme offers from Goondiwindi Travel.
Graeme has a particular attention to detail that is sometimes lacking in other tours. But every passenger feels at home on a Goondiwindi Travel Tour. Nothing is out of place and no one is left out. And I guess the very high percentage of repeat travelers is testament to the fact that these tours are of first class quality. Everything seems to go like clockwork and the worry of boarding, transfers, seating requests and every little thing, is taken care for you.
As I said, I have been involved with Goondiwindi Travel since its inception into tours and I hope that we spend many more years promoting these tours. If you are thinking about any one of these tours, I recommend you book now. Don’t think twice as there is no time like the present and I would hate for anyone to miss out on the tour of a lifetime.
Pat O'Shea
