Woden Valley Gymnastics Club provides a safe and secure environment that creates a positive attitude to learning of the sport of gymnastics and provides all participants with equal opportunities to achieve the highest possible level of skills on all apparatus, commensurate with their ability and with their will to achieve.
Our staff will:
Abide by the rules of Gymnastics Australia;
Pass on observations and information about all aspects of gymnastics;
Be honest and professional;
Exercise a duty of care to all our gymnasts;
Promote and assist in the development of gymnastics as a sport;
Put the athlete’s welfare first in all matters;
Show leadership in the effort to remove the abuse of drugs in sport;
Encourage the removal of personal abuse or inappropriate discrimination;
Only use appropriate physical contact with all athletes.
In the Olympic Cycle 2005 – 2009 the Club will:
increase the number of gymnasts registered with the Club to 550;
MAG to 150;
WAG to 200; and
Kindergym and Recreational Gymnastics (including ALP) to 300.
increase participation in general gymnastics in ACT schools;
have both male and female gymnasts regularly competing in ACT Teams at National competitions;
up grade the Club’s facility and increase the usability of Club space; and
assist the ACTGA in creating a stand-alone training program for the preparation of International (Elite) male gymnasts in the ACT.
