News 30th & 31st Jan 2009 we did not get rain. The new Station is sensitive enough to pick up large amounts of fog as rain in the rain gauge because it will tip at 0.2 mm. I have added some further links to the home page Please note that sometimes the RFS change the Fire danger rating at around midday in summer due to changing weather conditions. So I am unable to update WDL to display the most recent rating as per the RFS. The fire weather index is the only component of this site that must be done manually each day I set it according to the RFS web site. Weather conditions vary considerably between the Australian Bureau of Metrologies ( BOM ) two closest official stations in the mountains which are Katoomba and Springwood these two stations are generally updated to the web three or so times per day only, where as parts of this station are published to the web every 8 seconds. The links to the Katoomba and Springwood BOM stations can be found on the "Other Mountains Station" link. Data recorded every 8 seconds.
