I was asked by some students in Texas to help them with logical programming assignment and wrote a family tree analyzer. Later I decided to put some VP Studio interfaces (panel, grid object, separator, colored editor) into this application.
So far, so good - I decided to build my own family tree and found this
process quite interesting, especially when I discovered, that couple of levels in the tree gave me bout 70 people and it is not complete list yet (I hardly know 10% of them.... sorry, my fault).
It took me about 25 minutes to build a database... I felt I did something useful.
My kids were excited to see how many people .... they do not know.
I was asked - who are they.... and now in a trouble....
Please do not accept this mail as a self-promotion - I simply liked this process of building family tree and think this could be interesting for you as well.
For international users - this is English version only in the moment (compiler group is working to fix a bug with international charset handling)and in nearest future I will post international charset support.
Source codes for this program will be available soon (this is for "die-hard" programmers only).
I need extra time to polish it before putting sources for public use.
Your comments are welcome, interesting ideas could will be implemented (such as creating a web site from collected data, pictures and etc....., XML reports... you name it...).
