Last Tuesday I went to the new Melbourne Museum with teachers and students
from Levels 2,3,and 4. We went there by train and tram and when we arrived
inside the museum we met a guide from the museum. He explained everything
about the museum. After that we were walking around inside on our own and
we saw a very big skeleton of a Blue Whale. After that we went into the
Forest Gallery where we saw an ancient fern gully recreated.
It was very interesting when we went into the Bunjilaka Gallery that is
the place that displays and describes the lifestyles of Australian
aborigines. There is also the Te Pasifika Gallery in there too where we
saw some boats hanging from the roof.
We went into the Science and Life Gallery where we learned about the
history technology and there was an old computer from the 1940’s, which
was very big and weak. In the Life Gallery we saw lots of animals,
butterflies, insects, birds and beautiful stones.
When we went into the Australia Gallery we visited the legendary
racehorse Phar Lap and then we took a break and had lunch together which
was good. After lunch we looked around at other things and then visited
the Museum Shop, but I didn’t buy anything, we were just looking around
and then we went home. We had a good time and I think it was excellent for
us to go there, thank you.
