IMMIGRATION MUSEUM VISIT By Ping

On the 5th of September my class and other students from different classes went to the Immigration Museum. I met my teachers Jan and Kay at 10:15, there were about twenty of us.

Later a lady came to show us around the museum, and she talked about the information we could use, the computer records and books that they have for everyone to use.

Then we went upstairs and on the walls there were pictures of some people who had come here to Australia for many reasons from different countries. They brought things from their home countries like musical instruments and toys and books.

The people came here sometimes for love, marriage, freedom from war and political persecution and reunions with their family. I learned many people had a bad, hard life in their own countries, and now in Australia they have a better life.
