In Penrith last week I overheard an argument between a husband and wife—and the air was blue.

Times have changed and, of course, if that's the way you normally communicate then that's how it's going to be.

But spare a thought for those poor souls of either sex whose spouses berate them with all kinds of foul language whenever they lose their tempers.

It wasn't always so.

Vaya Condios, an exchange chemist with the Nepean Institute, recalls fondly how parents used to wash out their children's mouths with soap when they used bad language.

The idea set Senor Condios thinking, and he combined a breath sweetener with a language sweetener to make it easier for angry couples to kiss and make up.

His remedy is called Sweet Lips. It combines a mild peppermint with a strong tranquiliser and will be available only on prescription.

When you feel a tantrum coming on just pop a tablet in your mouth and sit back and relax.

He expects it to create a new export market.

Divorce lawyers, fearing a slump in business, would prefer to export Vaya Condios.

Vaya Con Dios wasn't a coincidental choice of names. This was my last column for the Star.
