Glenmore Triangle

If your children become frightened or your dog's hackles rise as you drive past Glenmore Park, they are probably reacting subconsciously to the evil that is known as the Glenmore Triangle.

It is not known precisely how many motorists have disappeared after entering Glenmore Park but they are believed to number in the thousands.

Most of them have eventually escaped, often suffering from exposure after wandering around the labyrinth for days at a time.

While the maze of streets that seem to go everywhere and end nowhere are too often blamed for the phenomenon, some people have begun to relate the disappearances to the sightings of a strange serpent-like creature in Lake Glenmore.

Marine biologists from the Nepean Institute believe the lost motorists stumbled upon the lake, stooped to drink, and were swallowed alive.

A safety fence will now be erected around the lake—if workmen are able to find it.

Some jokes are no joke at all.

Glenmore Park, much touted by real-estate salesmen as a desirable address, is a maze of narrow roads, cul-de-sacs and look-alike houses. Although signage has improved since this story was published, non-residents remain unanimous in their reluctance to enter the estate.

It was commonplace, especially at night, for visitors to waste thirty minutes or more trying to find their destination, and again trying to find their way out.

Rainy nights were worse.
