When my son, Wayne, was living in Perth, Western Australia, he continued his interest in triathlon. After one event, he sent this photograph and commentary. They were published in Push On, an Australian cycling magazine.
They're Different in W.A. The chap on the bike is Doctor Hany el Salah. The shot was taken when I saw him the first time at Cottesloe Beach, in the Cottesloe Triathlon. Two weeks later I saw him again—we were both in a sprint triathlon. He was wearing the same outfit. It wasn't till after the event that I realised he was mad. He was wearing a white tracksuit with red polka dots and getting into his white Datsun car with red polka dots. It was really something to see. |
