Laurel studied piano in Brisbane from a young age and attained qualifications through both AMEB and Trinity College of London. She holds performance diplomas at LTCL, ATCL and A Mus A level, as well as teaching diplomas at LTCL and ATCL level. In addition, she is also a qualified Primary School Teacher.Laurel has been operating her private music studio in the Albany Creek area for over twenty five years, and her students have achieved excellent results over this time in Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) practical and theory examinations and at local Eisteddfods.
Laurel is also an experienced accompanist and is currently official accompanist for the Brisbane Eisteddfod vocal sections. She is also in demand as an accompanist for students entering vocal and instrumental examinations.
Laurel is an AMEB examiner in Theory and in Practical Piano to A Mus A level.
A teaching member of the Music Teacher’s Association of Queensland (MTAQ), Laurel is also a professional member of the Accompanist’s Guild of Queensland and a teacher’s representative on the Queensland Advisory Committee to the AMEB.
