HERMAN & HERMLET

Brewing Machines

HERMAN is an automated brewing machine used to mash (cook) grains, boil the resulting wort, add hops, and chill wort ready to ferment into beer. HERMLET is an idea in the making, a new generation HERMAN. For details on HERMLET, check out the future plans link.

HERMAN is an acronym that spells out ‘Heat Exchange Recirulating Mash Automated Nanny’. The machine is a HERMS which helps to regulate the mash temperature.

HERMAN is presented as inspiration for anyone who wants to dabble in process control, or anyone who wants a tool to ‘simplify’ the 6 hours or so that go into making good beer from grains.
