Madras, well, now Chennai - brings back fond memories of me playing in waist deep water as a kid! It was loads of fun! A cyclone passed through today and all roads are submerged in water - just like old times - no difference whatsoever! Maybe worse! This pic is right in front of our house - the ugly transformer, that dies as soon as it rains heavy leaving us in darkness, surprisingly few trees still around reminding me of all the trees around SBOA and the motorcycle struggling through flooded streets making sure it doesn't turn off!!

Well, there is one difference, I'm sitting in total darkness other than my laptop screen shining brightly on my face - my tata indicom USB mobile internet card chugging away - la behold I'm online connected to the world even though my entire neighborhood is looking around for candles and torches. The great divide of IT India and everyday India.

What am I doing posting from Madras and after two years?
Hopefully I can unfold that story with more posts before my slack lazy trait kicks in....

Wow! A post in Nov 2008 after the last post in Nov 2006! :)

Anyway, looks like we missed lots of rain by a little bit. :)
