| Is the accommodation at Monash Lodge for male or female? |
| With the exception of Rose, all accommodations are for both male and female students. |
| I am not sure which location to choose... |
| All of our locations are either walking distance to Monash Uni or
walking distance to Clayton Shopping Centre/Train Station. Please refer to the
map. Most students prefer accommodation close to Uni for obvious reason. However, for convenience purposes, many more prefer closeness to shopping centre, train station, supermarkets and restaurants. |
| If I choose a house close to University, then how do I get around? |
| There are bus stops close to all of the houses. Take 10-minute bus
ride to Clayton Shopping Centre will give you access to restaurants, banks,
supermarkets etc. You can buy 2-hour ($2.40) ticket or daily ticket ($4.30) for
bus/train trips.
Please note that during weekend the bus/train services are reduced. So it is important to have the bus/train timetable handy. The University provide free shuttle bus from Clayton campus to Caulfield campus. |
| If I choose location close to Shopping Centre, then how do I get to campus? |
| The easiest way to get to campus is 10-minute ride on bus. The cost is $66 per month. This monthly ticket allows unlimited trips using bus or train and on weekend (Saturday and Sunday) can be used to travel to City (or anywhere serviced by bus/ train or tram in Melbourne). |
| Do you provide meals? |
| We do not provide meal. However, we do provide kitchen facility and all cooking utensils. If you do not want to cook then the options are restaurant, takeaways or catering service. There is a food court located at Union Building of Monash Uni. |
| Is the house fully-furnished? |
| The house and the rooms are all fully-furnished. The kitchen includes
microwave, stove, all utensils, rice-cooker, toaster, etc. The
bedroom includes large study desk, chair, study lamp, bed sheet, blanket,
pillow, heater, fan, powerboard, Internet connection etc.
Entertainment equipments such as TV, Video/DVD player and STB are either in the living room or in each bedrooms. TV cable (such as Foxtel) also can be arranged. House phone is free to use for local calls. Household consumables such as toilet tissue, laundry detergent, etc are also provided. |
