Short 'n' Curly!
Poetry

Broken Glass.
by Julie Patterson.

While the fools walks and derides pleasure amongst the shadows of fragmented dreams,
sewers cascade leaving their stain on a society never prepared to face up to blame.

Is beggar on the street there because he choses to falter or because we failed them?
Motherland ruined, twisted, the silenced masses fed the empires pipedreams,
while our young marched off to protect those who don't want our help.

Preaching in the senate, the dictators eyes dilate as they direct in distaste,
making me dry reach.

Propaganda filters through soundwaves,
syphons into lounge rooms,
where the apathetic rest after work.
The flickering screen feds the young, on our lies,
But,
leave no room for time or truth only treason.

When did life become death?
